Today was quite a productive day. Had a fair share of tv, com and some book-reading.

Yesteday, went to Siwei's gathering, which I tot was very fun. Played tennis for abt 2 hrs. Had lots of good food. Eg. brownies, very very cheesy shephard's pie ( i nibbled on the chicken and potato and tried to avoid having too much cheese), sausages, steamed egg, etc. We played some "fear-factor" style games; those who guessed the right number had to eat some horrible concoction. I had... steamed egg + lemon + a touch of beer...yucks. hmm.. We played other fun games and I think I lost my voice as a result (feels better today). We ended at ard 11plus. and I managed to catch the train. I think it was the 2nd last train or sth....

Today I caught Terminator 2 on cable. Somehow I never get sick of it. Think it was released like 10 years ago or sth. And it isnt about the huge fighting scenes and the big guns and violence. I really like the plot..and it's probably something that everyone had thought about...our Doomsday, ending in a nuclear holocaust. Well basically, it's this terminator who got sent back in time by a leader. Terminator's job is to protect this boy, who is in fact the leader in his adolescent days. Why? because the artificial intelligence lifeforms are sending this other terminator to kill him so that he would cease to exist and there would be no more human resistance against those artificial lifeforms.

Compare this to reality, I think we cannot say that a nuclear war is impossible. I mean countries have amassed nuclear weapons to be used as a deterrant. But there can be no telling if they wont be used at all. After all, the destructive effectiveness of a nuclear bomb can be very tempting for somebody trying to kill as many people as possible. And what's the only retaliatory action against the aggressor? nuclear strike of course. And then there'll be this vicious cycle..nuking each other...in the end, we'll all be killing ourselves..and there'll be nth left on earth...it'll probably become another Mars. Why would scientists bother to create such destructive weapons (atomic bomb, nuclear bombs)? What's its purpose in this human civilisation? Destroy it? That doesnt make any sense if u ask me. Is it to show their creativity? To glorify themselves so people can look up to them and say...."wow ure pretty smart!"? I dunno...

I certainly dun wanna see myself ending in a nuclear holocaust. The thought of ur flesh burning and vaporising...it's really horrible. I can really understand what those people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki went through......i hope history doesnt repeat itself. But I believe that's something we, as the people of the world, can work on, to prevent a similar occurrence. After all..."there is no fate, but what we make".

Similarly, my ca2 is coming up..."theree is no fate, but what we can make"..so I better stop crapping right now.. and start revising, or my fate will end up with a single digit on my score sheet. That'll feel like a nuclear holocaust in my brain....:(
